In my attempt to learn as much as I can, I watch a lot of documentaries. I find documentaries do a great job of providing immense background information, as well as providing a particular argument. Sometimes you will find documentaries that offer an unbiased view of a topic, but generally they have picked a side and they have a point to make. This is important to remember, because there are always two sides to a story, and one side may not be told in a particular documentary. I thought I would share some of the things I learn from the documentaries I watch, mostly to help myself remember the parts that really blew me away.
Yesterday I watched a documentary called The Revelation of the Pyramids. Let me first say that this documentary was recommended to me by my brother, with a heads up that it would blow my mind. And to be honest, it did. They bring up all sorts of questions that we just have no answers to, and then they offer some outside the box answers for you to think about. For some people, it will seem too crazy and too out there, but they preface it beautifully with an enormous amount of fact, making it hard to dismiss them altogether.
The documentary starts off by explaining what it is that is so amazing about the pyramids. I'll be honest, i'm surprised that this isn't something that is more talked about. Personally, I have never thought about how something as amazing as the pyramids were built thousands of years ago - I assumed that the experts knew the answer. But it turns out they don't. They have no idea how the Egyptians, with only stone chisels and rocks, built the pyramids in 20 years. That's the only thing they are sure about, is that it was built in 20 years. But all the engineers who are in the documentary say that they think it would be near impossible to build, even today with our modern tools.
Some of the crazy things about the Pyramid of Giza include: that it points to true north, that it actually has 8 sides and this allows it to display when the autumn equinox is happening, it incorporates pi (3.14) and the golden number (which explains the perfection in nature), it's earthquake-proof, the tunnel inside the pyramid is perfectly straight, and finally the sheer size of the blocks and the pyramid. Later on, they also explain how the number for the speed of light is built into the measurements of the pyramid.
The documentary then links the Pyramids to other wonders of the world such as Easter Island, several ruins in Peru, Mayan ruins in Mexico, and some hidden pyramids in China. That's another thing that blew me away. Apparently China has several pyramids which can be seen in satellite pictures but they deny their existence and have actually started planting trees over them so that they will eventually disappear.
So how do we explain all of these things? In the documentary they briefly mention God and aliens, but then they come to another conclusion. Perhaps a more advanced civilization lived on the earth and was wiped out by a huge natural disaster, such as an ice age, or the magnetic poles reversing. Perhaps they left all of these things as clues to warn us of the next disaster. After all, the only thing that could possibly survive thousands of years would be something as immense as the Pyramids. It is certainly some food for thought, and I think the idea of a more advanced human civilization existing 12,000+ years ago (the approximate date of the last ice age), is definitely something to explore.
